Spark Basketball is committed to creating a safe environment and positive experience for all of our participants and staff. Please review our general company policies listed below.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to event check-in, you will receive a credit voucher for registration fees paid that is good through the following year for any Spark Basketball event and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered event (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact Spark Basketball to cancel at least 24 hours prior to the first session of their registered event will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date (see terms below).

If Spark Basketball cancels your child's event due to COVID-related facility closures, government mandates or other circumstances, you will automatically be issued a credit voucher for the remaining portion of your registration fees paid which can be applied to any Spark Basketball event through the following year and used by any immediate family member.

These policies are in place to account for event fees associated with each registration that is made in advance of the event. Participant waives any and all damages that may otherwise arise out of any event cancellation and agrees to accept as liquidated damages said registration fees.

CANCELLATION PROTECTION

Spark Basketball offers our participants Cancellation Protection for $35 per event, due at the time of registration. Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of your event registration fees paid to date if you cancel for any reason 14 days prior to the date of the first session of your registered event. Please note: $35 Cancellation Protection Fee is non-refundable.

With Cancellation Protection, if you cancel with fewer than 14 days before the first session of your registered event, you will revert to the regular cancellation policy listed above and you will receive a credit voucher good through the following year that is transferable to any immediate family member and may be used for any Spark Basketball event.

REGISTRATION PAYMENTS

Full payment of registration fees must be completed before you participate in an event.

HEALTH, SAFETY, AND LIABILITY

In case of a medical emergency, participants will either be seen by our athletic training personnel, released to their parent/guardian and/or transported to the nearest hospital. Drugs, alcoholic beverages, and cigarettes are strictly forbidden and constitute, along with general misconduct, may be grounds for immediate dismissal from event without refund or voucher. Participants bags may be inspected upon check-in or at any time during event to ensure no drugs, alcohol or other improper substances are brought to the event. Spark Basketball, the Event Director and staff, and the host facility are NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

REPORT CHILD ABUSE

At Spark Basketball we strive to create a safe environment for all. Individuals (adults and minors) can report any suspected incident of abuse or sexual misconduct here.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION

Spark Basketball complies with all applicable federal, state, and local discrimination laws. Spark Basketball strictly prohibits and does not tolerate discrimination against participants because of race, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, gender identity or expression, age, physical or mental disability, citizenship, past, current, or prospective service in the uniformed services, genetic information, familial status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law. All Spark Basketball employees, applicants, Event Directors, staff, coaches and participants are prohibited from engaging in discrimination.

GENDER DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

We Promote Gender Diversity and Inclusion. Spark Basketball believes that everyone attending its events deserves to feel safe and respected. In furtherance of this belief, where applicable law and host facility policy allows, Spark Basketball will ask all Directors and staff to:

  • Refer to participants by their desired names and pronouns.
  • Apply gender-neutral dress codes, where applicable.
  • Prohibit public nudity at any Spark Basketball event or facility.
  • Respect the privacy of participants by declining to comment or share information about the gender identity or expression of any participant.


COMMUNICATION WITH PARTICIPANTS DURING EVENTS

Participants are permitted to call their family and friends during their breaks, unless otherwise specified by the Event Director. We do not allow the use of cell phones during training sessions. If you need to reach your child for an urgent matter, please call the on-site Director/Staff contact’s phone number provided with your pre-event reminder email. Our on-site staff will put you in touch with your child. If the matter is not urgent, please leave a message and someone will be in touch.

If participants have any concerns such as grouping, homesickness, illness or injury, etc., please ask them to talk to their Spark Basketball coach or Director directly. We are committed to making this a great experience for your child and want to deal with all issues immediately, which is easiest and most effective if done in real-time, on-site. If need be, parents may call the phone number and speak to a member of our staff as well.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Our primary objective is to create positive change in the participants who attend our events. Moreover, we want to ensure the safety of our participants at all times and provide a healthy, learning atmosphere. To achieve these objectives, we ask that participants conduct themselves in a positive and responsible manner. With that in mind, we created a Positive Code of Conduct and ask that all participants do their best to adhere to it:

  • To think positive and act positive throughout your stay with us.
  • To behave with proper etiquette at the facility at all times.
  • To behave like ladies or gentlemen at all event functions. To treat fellow participants and coaches with the respect, consideration and kindness they deserve.
  • To be on time for all event functions.
  • To report any personal problems or concerns to a staff member immediately.
  • To report any sign of illness or injury to a staff member immediately. To stay with the assigned staff member (i.e. chaperone or coach) at all times.
  • To stay in assigned groups at all event functions.
  • To respect fellow participants and Spark Basketball staff by limiting cell phone use during training sessions.

Any serious violation of event regulations, such as willful damage to the facility or property and/or behavior deemed unsuitable and detrimental to the best interest of the event, will be grounds for immediate dismissal from the event without refund or voucher.
